5. 5004T Titanium for Only Watch Auction – 3.35 million Euros<\/h2>\n

This unique version of Patek Philippe is housed in a titanium case and a material little used by the brand. It makes a difference compared to other 5004 versions, it is a solid gold dial, hand-engraved with a checkered pattern.<\/p>\n

Featuring a CHR 27-70Q caliber based on a blank movement created by Nouvelle Lemania exclusively for Patek Philippe.<\/p>\n

4. 2458 Chronometer Observatory for J.B. Champion – 3.99 million Euros<\/h2>\n

Certified by chronometer, reference 2458. Certified chronometric watches: COSC is the official Swiss institution that subjects watches individually to their performance and issues certificates once they pass the tests. These types of watches are on a different level. In the 1960s, the observatory’s precision contests were organized to verify the finest and specially developed movements of which Patek Philippe has won more than 700 titles. Joe Ben Champion was one of Patek Philippe’s biggest customers and the one who ordered this watch.<\/p>\n

It was equipped with a special movement of which, although thirty were made to participate in competitions at the observatory, only two had been pigeonholed.
\nThis piece remains the only reference 2458 in platinum, it also comes with a platinum bracelet, a leather strap, and an additional dial set with diamonds.<\/p>\n

3. Grand Complication Caliber 89 pocket watch – 4 million Euros<\/h2>\n

This watch is without a doubt the most complicated watch Patek Philippe has ever created. He presented it in 1989 when it celebrated its 150th anniversary. It took 9 years to develop and manufacture. With a 4-level movement, it comprises 33 complications, including the perpetual calendar, sunrise time and sidereal time, the Westminster chime with four Gongs.
\nThe Grand and Petite chime, the alarm, the thermometer and a two-minute titanium caged tourbillon. The movement itself contains 1,728 hand-finished pieces, 126 jewels, and weighs 600 grams.<\/p>\n

2. 1527 Perpetual Calendar in 18k rose gold – 4.6 million Euros<\/h2>\n

It tops the spot for the most expensive Patek Philippe wristwatch ever sold at auction.
\nMade between 1943 and 1944, this piece is a time machine: its elongated, slightly curved eyelashes, dial design, and unusual large diameter for the 37.6mm watch, all preceded other famous Patek Philippe references by at least one of each. The overall design and size of this one-of-a-kind piece remains timelessly elegant, even 70 years after its creation.<\/p>\n

\nThis piece was auctioned at Christie’s in 2010. It required great efforts from researchers, since when it was first sold around 1990, not much was known about it. Ultimately, thanks to Patek Philippe archives, it was revealed to be a reference 1527 perpetual calendar machine and as such one of two complicated copies of this model number made by the factory.<\/p>\n

The other piece lacked the chronograph function and belonged to Charles Stern, the first owner of Patek Philippe of the Stern family. The other piece is this one-of-a-kind 1527, which not only turned out to be the most complicated piece in this reference, but also a time machine that preceded some of Patek Philippe’s most famous wristwatches.<\/p>\n

The supercomplication of Henry Graves Jr. – 19.2 million Euros<\/h2>\n

Discs with 24 complications, more than 900 pieces and a weight of more than 450 grams, this 18 karat gold pocket watch pushed the limits of mechanical complexity beyond any other watch that has been produced before. It features a perpetual calendar, a minute repeater with Westminster Chimes, sidereal time, and a celestial chart that includes a map of the sky over Manhattan. After five years of planning and assembly, it was delivered in 1993 to its client, Henry Graves.<\/p>\n

It held the title to the most complicated watch for more than six decades until 1989. It was finally deprived of that title by another Patek Philippe creation, the Supecomilation that managed to claim another record title in 1999.
